JLF France releases music video in honor of World Down Syndrome Day

On March 21, 2022, World Down Syndrome Day, our sister foundation in France, Fondation Jérôme Lejeune, released a special music video recognizing the different individuals involved in the Down syndrome community. Featuring a new original song composed by the CIFRAL agency, the video was shot on location at the Fondation Jérôme Lejeune and the Jérôme Lejeune Institute, where they provide care for and perform research to help individuals with Down syndrome.

Entitled “Chercher pour Soigner,” (Seek to Heal), the song aims to show “the various missions of the Fondation” as it “[serves] people with intellectual disabilities of genetic origin and their families,” by providing a glimpse of a day in the life of a researcher, a doctor, and a young man with Down syndrome. As the Fondation Jérôme Lejeune recently shared,

“This song is the story of Tim, carrier of trisomy 21, Marc, researcher, and Julie, doctor at the Lejeune Institute. 3 very different daily lives, and yet, 3 closely linked lives: Marc works to improve Tim’s life, Julie accompanies Tim medically, and feeds Marc’s research work through her observations with Tim.”

Hear the song for yourself and watch the heartwarming video below:
