If the U.S. Supreme Court proceeds with the draft majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, it will uphold Mississippi’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks gestation and overrule its infamous Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey abortion decisions. This would allow voters and elected state officials to determine their own abortion laws. As leading pro-life advocates, we are thrilled by this prospect, because such a decision will enable us to more forcefully advocate for the protection of the unborn with Down syndrome.

While we now know that in February there were five justices willing to overturn Roe and Casey, we don’t know if that is still the case, as the Dobbs decision is not yet final. The justices are under tremendous pressure to reverse course – that is likely the reason that the draft opinion was leaked to the media in the first place – and their lives are now being threatened by pro-abortion radicals. I encourage you to pray for them and their families, that they will have the courage of their convictions.
Help us make the most of this historic moment
For us, the debate about abortion is not about politics – it’s about life and death. No population in America has suffered more profoundly because of Roe and Casey than the unborn diagnosed with Down syndrome. Nearly two-thirds of all pregnancies with such a diagnosis are terminated.
If the Supreme Court stays true to its draft ruling in the Dobbs case, we will then be able to engage with state legislators and voters across the country to help them understand the positive impact that individuals with Down syndrome have on society. But our effectiveness will depend on how successful we are in raising additional funds. You see, we don’t have large reserves to rely on as we increase advocacy efforts in dozens of states across the country. It’s an overwhelming responsibility, which is why I am turning to you for help.
Will you kindly step forward with a generous financial gift today to ensure we’re ready for the coming advocacy battle in the states? Our team, and all those we love and care for, will be extremely grateful. If possible, please consider becoming a monthly donor to our organization so that we know we will be blessed by your support each month and can plan accordingly.

The legislative battles that will come in the wake of overturning Roe and Casey will be many and ferocious, as we’ve seen with the recent demonstrations at justices’ homes and pro-life centers. We at JLF USA have the courage and commitment to wade into these battles – all we need to bolster our defenses are the financial resources to engage in – and win – them.
Thank you for your friendship and support. Please keep our nation and the U.S. Supreme Court justices in your prayers.
Sincerely,
