Dear Friend of the Jerome Lejeune Foundation,
It has been my privilege to keep you abreast of the exciting events surrounding Madame Jerome “Birthe” Lejeune’s visit here in the United States this month. What an awesome time! It was a whirlwind trip for her – and for me as I accompanied her to a number of special events in honor of Madame Lejeune and her husband.
Birthe is an outstanding and critical member of the Jerome Lejeune Foundation team in France and in the U.S. and a dear friend, and I want to highlight her impact on the pro-life cause and Down syndrome awareness below.
Also, please note the first ever live broadcasted US interview of Mr. Jerome Lejeune aired this coming Thursday at 10pm ET.

EARLIER THIS MONTH
Archdiocese of Miami: 31st Annual Respect Life State Conference
The Respect Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami hosted the 31st annual Respect Life State Conference October 20-21 in Florida. A tribute was given to Dr. Jerome Lejeune, and Madame Lejeune was welcomed with open arms. Those at the conference reaffirmed the dignity of each person: “A person is not a something; but rather a somebody. And this somebody is capable of knowing himself/herself, of giving himself/herself in love, of being loved, and of knowing the existence and the love of God.” Read more here.
Miami Students with Down Syndrome Prepare Special Welcome for Madame Lejeune
Madame Jerome Lejeune was honored to see the great work of the sisters and the reception of the students at the Marian Center, a day school for students ages six to 40+ who have intellectual disabilities. She had lunch with the students who received her with cards, gifts, and a special song. The nuns showed Madame and her guests though the school, displaying the progress that the students were making. Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School Meeting
About five hundred students, along with faculty and staff at the girls’ school in Washington, D.C. attended a non-mandatory event in honor of Madame Lejeune and her husband. After meeting and speaking with the enthusiastic girls, she entrusted her husband’s legacy to them. “In the last day of his life, Jerome was very anxious to find out who would be the ones to continue to fight… I think you are some of them, and I thank you with all my heart.” Read more here.
Madame Lejeune Gives Divine Mercy Care Lecture
At an event hosted by Divine Mercy Care & Tepeyac OB/GYN, a pro-life clinic located in Fairfax, Virginia, Madame Lejeune shared the life story of her husband and their shared work caring for the most vulnerable through research, education, and advocacy. “He was really anxious to know who would continue to defend and find a cure for these children.” Read more here.
Thank you again for your interest in the work of the Jerome Lejeune Foundation. This is some of the most meaningful work I have ever engaged in. We need each other to make a difference for the lives that depend on us!
