Dear Friend of the Jerome Lejeune Foundation,
I am excited to announce that in anticipation of World Down Syndrome Day, the Jerome Lejeune Foundation USA is sponsoring an event at the United Nations headquarters in NYC on March 20, 2018.
The panel discussion is titled “No Room in Rural Villages, Cities and Homes for Those with Disabilities? Are Girls and Boys with Down Syndrome Being Left Behind?” and will be held during the UN Commission on the Status of Women which focuses on the challenges and opportunities for rural women and girls.
The purpose of the discussion will be to bring attention to the needs of individuals with Down syndrome in rural areas around the world, who may not be receiving the care and attention they need. It will examine successful policies that have helped individuals with Down syndrome and their families thrive. Panelists will also address current challenges of safeguarding the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities.
If you are interested in attending, view additional information for the event on the website of our partner C-Fam. Please note that if you do not have a UN pass, you must register for a special events pass.
I encourage you to attend this event if you are able, and forward this email to a friend in an effort to spread the word about these crucial issues and important discussions. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Please note that each donation is tax deductible. The Jerome Lejeune Foundation USA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
